Blown fiber deployment within MDU’s
Gain insights about how air blown fiber (ABF) can save time and money on your next MDU fiber build.
ABF can provide an efficient, cost effect means of deploying fiber within MDU’s. By utilizing OSP and indoor-rated microducts, a pathway is created to each individual living unit (ILU) with a direct connection back to the fiber distribution hub (FDH). This design eliminates multiple connection/splice points and allows for the placement of the FDH up to 1km from the ILU. ABF is installed at 100 m/min, which far exceeds the speed of traditional methods of installing fiber by pushing or pulling cables through ducts.
